This performance-driven organisation designing, engineering and supplying gas handling equipment in 26 countries through 6,000 employees was targeting high levels of growth and identified a need to invest in the development of Managers to help achieve this.
Traditionally promoting into Management roles based on engineering excellence rather than leadership qualities, the organisation’s goal was to develop and grow excellent Engineers into excellent Managers, capable of driving the business forward.
Following a rigorous selection process, the organisation selected TACK as their strategic partner to create a Management Development Academy, because of its subject matter expertise and experience, scale and flexibility, local language delivery capability, practical approach to evaluation and follow-up, pre and post support and implementation facilities and the strength of references provided by existing clients.
TACK designed and delivered a blended modular management development learning journey for a target audience of over 400 Managers.
Delivered in digestible modules over time to enable application and practice of skills in the workplace, the entire learning journey totalled 8 training days per participant. Managers were equipped with know-how and skills to recruit the right people, manage employee performance, communicate with impact, role model a behavioural based approach to health and safety and perform effectively as a Leader.
The initiative included pre and post competency assessment to Kirkpatrick L3 / L4, online behavioural profiling, post-course management and learner support tools.
Additionally, TACK project managed all aspects of the initiative including delegate registration, joining instructions, pre-work coordination, help desk support, local country liaison and reporting.
The Management Excellence Academy ran successfully and continuously for the full 5 year term and was delivered in 7 languages, across 11 countries.
Our tender process to secure a partner to work with on our global management development programme was long and very comprehensive, but from the offset TACK International was our preferred partner for a number of reasons; we had immediate confidence in the team, good rapport with the key players - and we were reassured by their capability and past experience of delivering a programme like ours, both globally and in local language.
There is no doubt that the process was challenging at times but we worked through it and when we got on to the real design phase the hard work really began.
The team was exceptional, always willing to give advice on how we could make things work better based on both the businesses - and my - ever changing needs, willing to receive feedback on areas where we could all work better together, but most importantly we were all bought into and were
extremely passionate about creating a first class programme – and that is what I believe we achieved.”
